From Larnaca by ferry to Piraeus, Greece.

This is an important development and strategic move by the contractor, based on which – among other things-the options for the public wishing to travel by boat from Cyprus to Piraeus and vice versa are expanded.

It should be noted that the contract signed with regard to the ferry provided Scandro Holding with the ease of use of either the port of Limassol or Larnaca or both. In this context, according to well-informed sources who spoke to InBusinessNews, after a successful summer season, a combination of both will be made.

According to the same information, the reason for the addition of Larnaca is mainly practical, as during the summer period when tourism is at very high levels, it is difficult to find slots in a single port. It is also noted that the Port of Limassol is now flooded with world-famous cruise ships, a result of years of efforts of the Deputy Ministry of Shipping, and so often there is no “space” for all ships.

Therefore, during the new tourist season, the passenger ferry “Daleela” is expected to use one of the two ports depending on the availability of places for boarding – disembarking. It is worth mentioning that the ticket prices, either for Larnaca or Limassol, will not differ greatly.

The use of the Port of Larnaca for the ferry connection is also expected to be beneficial for both the city and the whole project. Initially, more options will be given to Cypriot travelers. For example, it will be easier for someone from Famagusta to travel via Larnaca than from Limassol. It will also create a framework of healthy competition across the tourism and travel industry, with managing companies investing in infrastructure for better services.

The opening of the services is scheduled for the last week of May, while in the next few days announcements are expected from Scandro Holding for all details regarding the operation of the service, such as timetables, fares, reservation procedure.
