The real estate market is better than before the pandemic

Based on the data of the Land Registry, the sales of real estate in Cyprus this year reached 1.102 recording an increase of 43.8% compared to March 2019. Moreover, sales in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 3.009 from 2.366 in the corresponding period of 2019, recording an increase of 27.1%.

The sales documents of this year’s first quarter in Limassol were increased by 28.3% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2019, as they amounted to 1.019 from 794. Paphos counted 583 sales in the first quarter of 2019, while this year it counts 653, resulting in an increase of 12%.

More impressive is the increase in the capital, as property sales in the period January – March 2022 stood at 673 compared to 486 in the corresponding period of 2019, in a pre-pandemic year. Regarding Larnaca, the increase compared to the first quarter of 2019 exceeds 43% in the first quarter of 2022.

The only province in which sales remained stable three years later is free Famagusta, in which 152 sales documents were filed in the first quarter of 2022 compared to 148 in the corresponding period of 2019.
